Frequently asked questions

Is there a free or cloud version of Embold?

No. The Code Quality Cloud offering has been discontinued and Embold is now delivered exclusively as an on-premise Enterprise deployment, so that code analysis happens entirely inside your own environment. Contact sales to discuss a deployment for your team.

How is Embold priced?

Pricing is quoted per deployment, based on the number of repositories, the size of your codebase, and the number of developer seats you need. Compliance and support requirements are factored in as well — get in touch and we'll prepare a quote.

How is "lines of code" counted?

Lines of code (LOC) counts non-empty, non-comment lines across all analysed files. Blank lines and pure comments are excluded. The count is recalculated on every scan.

Where is my code processed?

Entirely within your own infrastructure. Embold runs behind your firewall, and no source code is transmitted to BrowserStack or any third party.

I'm an existing Embold customer — who do I contact?

Email support@browserstack.com and our team will help with your account, licensing, or migration to the on-premise deployment.
